Automatic Number Plate Recognition Enforcement and Management
In recent years, ANPR has become one of the most popular and effective ways to manage car parks, both big and small, seamlessly. ANPR acts as a ‘virtual warden,’ allowing us to accurately monitor car parks 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without the need for any onsite staff.
At Countrywide Parking Management, we work closely with our clients to create a flexible and bespoke ANPR management system that meets your car park requirements whilst having minimal impact on the day-to-day users. An ANPR car park takes away the need for having manual surveillance, such as wardens walking up and down the car park all day, helping to streamline the management of your car park.
Businesses and councils in the UK benefit from our ANPR camera systems as they make it easier for both the party responsible for managing the car park, as well as for members of staff, visitors, and anyone else who may use the facility. You will also benefit from 24/7 support, connecting you with help at any time of the day or night, as and when it may be required.
Our zero confrontation ANPR solutions are available to all sectors across the UK, including hospitality, retail, and leisure, among others. Call the Countrywide Parking Management team for more information.

What does ANPR stand for?
After learning what an ANPR camera is, what the acronym stands for becomes quite clear. ANPR parking stands for automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) car parks.
What do ANPR cameras look like?
ANPR cameras look exactly how you would expect, resembling traffic cams. We also install signage along with your ANPR camera, meaning motorists will understand they are parking in a monitored car park.
How does ANPR work?
Vehicle Enters Car Park
The ANPR camera will capture a photograph of the vehicle entering the car park, recording the vehicle registration and the time of entry. This will be logged on the ANPR system.
What do ANPR cameras check?
ANPR cameras recognise your number plate, but what does ANPR check? The cameras check our back-office system for an active white-list session or begin timing the vehicle’s length of stay.
Vehicle Leaves Car Park
The camera will record the vehicle leaving the car park. A PCN will be issued if a white-list session is not detected, or the vehicle has overstayed.
PCN Posted to Keeper
If a contravention has been made by the vehicle, a PCN will be processed. We will request keeper details from the DVLA, and a PCN will be sent in the post.
ANPR Features
24/7 Monitoring
The ANPR camera acts as a 24-hour virtual warden on-site without the need for human presence. This reduces confrontation and increases effectiveness.
Virtual Permits
Our simple-to-use ‘white-listing’ portal allows you to add authorised vehicles from anywhere in the world on the ANPR system. The portal feeds directly to the camera in real time.
Registration Kiosks
We can supply user-friendly registration kiosks for customers/guests to input their vehicle registration to authorise parking sessions.
Real-Time Statistics
ANPR technology allows for real-time reporting statistics, providing you with accurate insights into how your car park operates, including peak times, repeat visits, and annual turnover.
